Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Job Captain/Senior Drafter to lead technical drafting and documentation for our Structural Concrete & Parking Structure Studio. This is a high-level position perfect for a skilled professional with deep expertise in structural concrete and parking structure design. You will manage complex 3D Revit models, coordinate with project teams, and ensure the precision and quality that define our work.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Documentation: Direct the development of detailed construction documents, technical drawings, and specifications for complex structural concrete and parking structure projects
- Revit Model Management: Create, maintain, and refine sophisticated 3D Revit models with meticulous attention to accuracy and efficiency
- Project Coordination: Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and project team members to ensure seamless integration of structural systems and design intent
- Quality Assurance: Verify accuracy and compliance of all drawings and documentation with industry standards, building codes, and client requirements
- Technical Detailing: Develop comprehensive construction details that communicate design intent clearly to contractors and construction teams
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering their technical development and design understanding
- Problem-Solving: Apply critical thinking to resolve technical challenges and optimize structural solutions within project constraints
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in architectural or structural design with a strong, relevant project portfolio
- Revit Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Revit with demonstrated success in structural concrete and parking structure modeling and drafting
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in AutoCAD and other industry-standard design software
- Technical Skills: Excellent command of technical drawing and detailing practices specific to structural systems
- Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities with the ability to make sound technical decisions
- Work Style: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Documented experience on parking structure or structural concrete projects
- Advanced knowledge of concrete systems, construction methodology, and building techniques
- Familiarity with construction administration processes and contractor coordination
